How we manufacture our threading tools
Precision, care and a large portion of experience are the ingredients that make tapping tools from BAER something very special. But how is a tap or thread former made from these? We take you on a journey through our production process.
The materials are crucial
It all starts with the materials used. Low-quality steel leads to an unclean thread and tool breakage. That's why we choose high-quality high-speed steels (HSS) that are heat-resistant and have outstanding cutting properties.
From the blank to the tap
We produce a blank from the high-speed steel , which is initially still soft and is alternately heated and cooled during the tempering process. This ensures the special hardness of the subsequent threading tools.
The grooves, chamfer and the thread itself are then ground into shape. Great care is required here, as this is work in the micrometre range. The surface of the tap and the machining of the cutting edges are particularly important.
From our warehouse to your home
The finished tapping tool is then sent to our state-of-the-art warehouse. We keep over 10,000 different tools and accessories available for you here at all times. BAER is characterised by high stock availability and short delivery times. Barely in the shopping basket, already at your home!
